Golden Berries Green Smoothie Bowl
Super cooling green smoothie this morning with a coconut water base and topped with golden berries. Golden berries have a more acidic taste than your standard raisins or other dried berries but they perfectly complement sweeter desserts or smoothies. As all berries they contain high amounts of antioxidants and bioflavonoids which have anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties. They're also a rich source of vitamin C and A which protect against infections and viruses promoting immune system functioning as well as protecting vision and cell and tissues growth. Golden berries have a surprisingly good amount of plant protein and include various B vitamins involved in energy production, nervous system health and metabolic processes like breakdown of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Keep hydrated, especially during hot days in summer. Not just with water but with electrolytes too that are lost with sweat. Happy Wednesday!
- 1 cup Coconut water
- 2 small Bananas, chopped and frozen
- 1 handful Spinach
- 2 tbsp Golden berries
- 1 small Ginger piece
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- Place all the ingredients except the golden berries in a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and top with the berries. Enjoy!
- Can add some lemon or orange zest which would go really well with the golden berries.
