My Perfect Porridge
I have only recently gone back to eating porridge, having completely scunnered myself of it a couple of years back. I was obsessed. I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on. It’s so warming and satisfying in the colder months. I’m in love with it again! The best part of porridge is that you can add any topping you want to create a beautifully healthy and filling breakfast like this.
- 50 g Porridge oats
- 50 ml Almond milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 100 ml boiling water
- Honey or agave syrup
- Place your oats in a pot and cover with boiling water. Leave to stand for 10-20 minutes. Go do some yoga, or have a cuppa.
- Mash the banana in a bowl with a fork then add to the pot with the almond milk, turning on the heat. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for a couple of minute’s, stirring often.
- Once cooked, place in a bowl and add a handful of berries, some cashews and the chia seeds.
- OPTIONAL drizzle over some honey or agave syrup.
